Barita, Digicel perceived as top brands of 2020
Who has the best brand?
Barita Investments and Digicel are perceived by marketers as the top Brands for 2020, based on the findings of a survey conducted by LEEP Marketing.
Thirty of Jamaica’s top marketers were canvassed in the brand perception survey, published on October 26. About 40% or 12 persons chose Barita as the most impressive brand. Another 40% were also impressed by Digicel; however, more respondents ranked Barita above Digicel.
Respondents described the Barita brand as being savvy, witty, relevant and visible, whereas Digicel’s top marks were based on its philanthropic and entertainment efforts during the pandemic.
Rounding out the top 5 brands in the survey were J Wray & Nephew/Campari Group, Grace Kennedy, and small business delivery brand, 7 Krave.
Other brands with repeat mentions included the Ministry of Health, Sagicor, CB Foods and the Jamaica Labour Party.
What led to the perception index?

Tanya Lee – CEO, LEEP Marketing
Head of LEEP Marketing, Tanya Lee, sought to canvas the views of Jamaica’s leading marketers on brands, as many companies have had to ditch their previous plans and campaigns and adjust to frozen or shrinking budgets, changing consumer habits and an uncertain market associated with the pandemic.
