Modular Build Jamaica says it can deliver steel-frame homes in as little as six to eight weeks—and that its building system can withstand a Category 5 hurricane. The company has also opened a new factory in Kingston as Jamaica searches for faster, more affordable and more resilient ways to rebuild after Hurricane Melissa. But how strong are these homes really? How much do they cost? And has the technology received all the approvals needed to build at scale?
