Lighting company Fosrich is now building homes. What?

So most people know Fosrich for their lighting business, and more recently, they’ve started distributing solar products.

But the company just announced they’re branching out into residential real estate.

They’ve teamed up with developer BC Dundee Enterprise to build “The Hamptons” in Salt Marsh, Trelawny. The property is about two minutes away from Falmouth Square, 15 minutes from the Montego Bay town centre and about 10 minutes away from Sangster Airport.

And this is a massive project. According to Fosrich, the development will have over 600 homes, including one to three bedroom apartments and two to four bedroom detached houses.

It will also include a 300,000 square foot commercial shopping centre for supermarkets, restaurants, businesses and medical services.

There are also plans for a music village. BC Dundee will be financing most of the development. Fosrich will have a 20 percent stake in the project.

Fosrich CEO Cecil Foster said this project is part of their long-term move into property development.

They bought a hardware store in Montego Bay and opened a new store in Drax Hall, St. Ann.

With all these new projects, FosRich is becoming more than just a company that sells lights.

And that’s the bottom line.

What you think of Fosrich’s move in residential real estate?
